Cook Salmon In Oven
While the oven is warming slather your salmon with olive oil using a brush.
Cook salmon in oven. Add one 6 to 8-ounce skin-on salmon fillet with the skin side down. Its seasoned with minced garlic fresh baby dill lemon slices fresh ground pepper and green onions. Heat the oven to 400 degrees.
Place a large oven-safe skillet in a cold oven and preheat it to 450 F. Cook for 10-15 mins. Drizzle some oil over the top of each salmon fillet.
The best way to gauge how long to cook for is to base the initial time on 4 mins per 1cm of thickness in the centre. Place into oven and cook salmon for 20minkg or 8-10 mins for single portions. Use a pastry brush or your fingers to rub the oil all over the salmon.
Cook to 135F if you prefer rarer salmon or happen to using wild salmon which is leaner and easier to dry out. Baking salmon on a cedar plank is pretty straightforward. Cook to 140F maximum if you want a firmer texture.
Pre-heat oven to 180C 160C fan forced. Bake until the salmon is cooked through about 25 minutes. Serve with the Toasted Almond Parsley Salad and squash if desired.
Place salmon skin-side dowin the baking sheet or cast iron skillet. Place salmon skin side down on a non-stick baking sheet or in a non-stick pan with an oven-proof handle. Garnish with parsley before serving.
